Please join us for our October Museum Forum as we visit the Palacio de Liria to see the special exhibition “Cayetana, Duchess of Alba: Grande de España”, dedicated to Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart (1926–2014), 18th Duchess of Alba.
The Duchess of Alba was one of Spain’s most prominent aristocrats and one of the most recognisable public figures of the 20th century. She was head of the historic Casa de Alba (House of Alba), one of Spain’s oldest and most distinguished noble families, with a remarkable heritage of art, history and culture.
A passionate art lover and patron, the Duchess devoted much of her life to preserving and sharing the family’s extraordinary cultural heritage. The exhibition brings together more than 200 works and personal objects, offering an insight into her life, personality, passions and close connection with the Casa de Alba.
The exhibition ticket also includes access to the Palacio de Liria, the Madrid residence of the Dukes of Alba and one of the city’s most remarkable historic palaces.
